As Kevin weaves his magical world around the children, you can actually feel them grow into new levels of perception, understanding and engagement with the spoken word.

Head Teacher, Sir William Burrough Primary School, London

Kevin is an educator in the broadest sense, communicating an enthusiasm for the spoken word and introducing a crucial element of playfulness into the learning process. He is also an educator in the exact sense of educing or drawing out responses.

Over the past twenty years he has played a key role in the revival of interest in traditional stories and their educational value. With his focus on oral traditions from around the world, he has been influential in placing the development of speaking and listening skills at the heart of the Primary English curriculum.

Kevin's focus is always on learning through play. By tapping into the lively oral traditions which children and young people already possess, he elicits creative responses that are spontaneous and free of formal academic demands.
